FIRe Joint Scientific Workshop

FIRe meeting

The FIRe: Joint scientific workshop: "Innovative strategies to improve the recycling of energy, nutrients and organic matter from waste materials" was held at Zinzendorfhaus, Erfurt on May 26th 2015. This scientific event was jointly organised by the EU research and training projects: FertiPlus, INEMAD, ReUseWaste in collaboration with the Biorefine Cluster Europe.

The aim of the scientific event was to create a forum for knowledge exchange, research discussion and sharing of innovative ideas between partners of the three projects, as well as with important stakeholder and end users of the technologies and innovations created in the project. For the young scientists in the three projects, the event served as a training and dissemination event, a chance for them to expose their results to others and potential new employees, whether in the research community or private sector.

We have compiled to interesting articles from the event. The first is a synthesis of the main outcomes of the final discussion, entitled "No one size fits all: Creating incentives and determining scales for ‘best bet’ technologies". We also wrote an article about what the participants thought about the event: "FIRe workshop participant’s opinion: A successful event for networking, learning and collaboration".
