WP 7.2: Nitrogen recycling from organic waste streams and biofertilizers

Fellow (ER): Sean Case, UCPH

Sean completed an engineering undergraduate degree at the University of Bath before undertaking an MSc in Land Management at Cranfield University. He subsequently finished a PhD at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, Lancaster and the University of Edinburgh, which investigated the effect of biochar on greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural soils.

His postdoctoral project investigates the feasibility and stakeholder acceptability of alternative biofertiliser solutions. In co-ordination with researchers from the University of Wageningen, Sean will conduct a survey of farmers across several European countries in order to establish the attitudes and barriers to the use of novel biofertiliser products. Concurrently, he will conduct laboratory experiments to screen and compare biofertiliser products in terms of environmental sustainability and agricultural efficacy.

Supervisor: Professor Lars Stoumann Jensen (UCPH)
