PhD course in Environmental Technology for Treatment and Management of the Biowaste Manure

One of the ReUseWaste partners, University of Copenhagen, offers a PhD course in Environmental Technology for Treatment and Management of the Bio-Waste Manure together with other partners from the Nordic Forestry, Veterinary and Agricultural University Network (NOVA). The course will be run in Tjele, Denmark from 24-29 August 2015, and is open to all PhD students within agricultural or environmental sciences. The aim of the course is to enable students to analyze and develop environmentally friendly technological and whole system solutions for organic biowaste utilization and recycling in agriculture, with the main focus on animal manures.

Participation in the course will give students a fundamental understanding of technologies for treatment of bio-waste that can reduce the emissions to environment (water courses, greenhouse gases, ammonia and other odours etc.) and other threats (e.g. soil compaction, hygienic questions) due to animal production. The course will give insight and hands on experience in the functionality of environmental technologies for the treatment of bio-waste, in particular animal manures.
